I'm planning on ordering some S strain rotifers from this lady. She said she can fit up to 6 bags of starts into one box. Shipping to here was 32.00 for over night. 150.00 or more gets free shipping and club orders get 10% off. I'm going to be in salt lake monday and tuesday so i was thinking we could all get an order shipped out on monday for tuesday deliver and I could just take my starts home with me. Someone would have to be willing to get the order at their house... Amie????? :-D

let me know if anyone is interested. I'm definitely getting some S strain rots and i havent had a chance to check out the other stuff. I'm doing it now.

I figured they were something special! thats a lot of eggs. the cysts that I got of rotifers were 5,000-8,000.. the amount she is selling is huge. she might be able to do a smaller amount. seemed really nice. Found her on MOFIB

Is this the same lady that I was looking to buy from? The lady I was talking with ... her name is ladygator on MOFIB.

I'd be glad to have them delivered here.

Nevermind, she just answered my question. I went and checked my pm's on MOFIB and this was a response I got back from her when I asked about a smaller copepod than tiggerpods...

Hi Amie - You might want to try the Tisbe, they are about 1/2 the size of the Tigriopus with the same behavior and advantages. I also sell them in bulk. Check out my website www.livecopepods.com/zencart and see what you like. I can always provide a discount for MOFIB members, so once you figure out what you need, let me know and I will send you a customized invoice. Or, if you do a direct order, I will just return a 10% discount on your purchase.

So make sure you tell her you are on MOFIB.

Shoot, I just typed up this long response and lost it somehow. Let me see if I can reproduce any of it....

About Tisbe, on MOFIB she says, "Harpacticoid copepods are also useful feeds for certain breeding projects. Orchid dottybacks, green chromis, striped pipefish and some seahorse species readily adapt to the small darting swimming motions of the free-swimming life stages of these copepods. Also, harpacticoid copepods are packed with essential nutrients such as carotenoid pigments and essential fatty acids, which aid your fish larvae in their development and coloration.

Culture systems for harpacticoid copepods are simpler than for calanoids. While high quality live phytoplankton mixtures such as Phycopure or pure starter cultures such as Tahitian Isochrysis, Tetraselmis and Pavlova are still recommended to produce optimum results, harpacticoid copepods can be easily supplemented with microparticulate feeds. Just take care to use the freshest products available when mixing up your own harpacticoid diet.
"

The picture of them looks rather ominous. They have spikes on the front and back of them.

I've sent her a pm to see if she's heard of any problems. I might feed them to my clownfish with extreme caution at first.

She has them listed in 2 places. One for $17 and one for $60. I'm sure the $17 has 20 bugs in it. The $60 has 3,000. I'm okay splitting the $17, letting you raise them for 2 weeks and then splitting them. (Or I will.) But it's up to you.
