Sylvio, I haven't seen you on the board for a while, hope you are okay. I have a question for you. That picture you posted of the deep sand bed, I was always under the impression that after 4" of sand, there is no oxygen so there is die-off below that level. Is that not true? I mean, sometimes you can have too much of a good thing, right? Also, I was surprized to hear that they put a drop of nannochloropsis in otherwise pure cultures. That stinks. The information you provide above is really good, thank you. |

HI Amie Ich hab auch nicht viel Zeit eigendlich gerade so das ich noch Fische füttern kann. Bei Livesand kann man getrost 10 cm einfüllen. Man kann sogar nach einiger Zeit an der Scheibe sehen das Leben bis in die untersten Schichten vorhanden ist. Viele Leute mit guten Erfahrungen haben eine Schicht Sand von 8-10 cm. MfG Sylvio |

From Sylvio: Hi Amie I don't have much time myself, just enough to feed fish. With live sand you can easily add 10 cm (4 Inches) After a while you will be able to see through the glass that there is life even in the lowest layers A lot of people have good experiences with a sand bed of 8-10 cm (3-4 inches).
