Allard's Clownfish?

I am considering purchasing a pair of Allard's Clownfish and wondered if anyone knows how big they get, if they will spawn in captivity, how difficult they are, etc.

Thanks!

I have a pair in my 55 gallon tank. The female was hosting with the pink skunk in my RBTA until about a month ago. Now she is finally hosting w/ the male in my green carpet. I've had them for over a year - mama is ~5 " and papa is ~3". They have a ton of personality, but can be aggressive towards other fish. Not a problem in this tank since they own it. They are hard to find, I ordered mine as a pair. I haven't had any eggs yet.

Thanks for the posts, reinforces everything I have read so far. I have changed my mind on the Allards.

Right now the plan is my Rod's Onyx which I have wanted since shortly after getting into the hobby. I now have 6 of the little guys and will be thinning it down to 2 in the near future. Started with 10, Amie has 2 and Andy has 2, 2 will be going to Ogden Monday I hope. Pics will definately be in order soon!

The next pair is SNOWFLAKES! Still working on that though.

The last pair I want is Theillei! I seriously doubt I will be able to find one let alone a pair so, I will make my own! That is, get an occelaris and an orange skunk to see if I can get some that way (supposedly how they came to be). That is a ways down the road though. Need some serious coaching from Amie and another tank. I have that planned I think, for frags and the other pair of clowns. They have them at saltwaterfish.com for $16-17 each both ORA tank raised.

Would that be a good choice? I am a little gunshy of ORA fish after losing my Picassos and also with what I have heard from Amie.

We'll see.

The Orange Skunk Clownfish is the most timid of all the Clownfish.

that cracks me up. My female trys to kill everything in her tank. including me.

the picture they havev is actually a pink skunk on there. orange skunks only have one stripe from front to back

Onyx clowns are gorgeous. My favorite clownfish by far! I wanted to get some when we first got our tank, but when I emailed that Rod guy he was taking a break from raising them. I was sad.

Rod is no longer shipping his clowns. My set was the last of the shipments. He is going to distrubute them through Premium aquatics (with a premium price I would assume). Crystal the last 2 are not spoken for (though I was going to wait until they color up a bit and sell them for more, but if you want them, I'll hook you up!). Also, the other two have not been paid for yet so there is a chance on those as well. If not, I hope to have babies some day and I'm sure Amie will! BTW, Crystal, I am "jpndave" on WMAS.

I love my Onyx Percs! Not sure what you are referring to with the Snowflakes. If you are referring to Snowcassos, let me know! I just got some Picasso Percs, and she also has some Snowcassos.
