I must be doing something wrong with the ceriths and nerites. The both lay eggs but I have never seen babies or increased numbers. I think my elegance is eating snails too, seems to really like nerites or maybe they just fall in more often.

I've had stomatellas grow to adulthood. I've had tons of cerith snails get about 1/4", but I think something must eat them at that point because I don't ever see them after that. They are very cute when they are that small. Maybe I should take them out next time and put them somewhere else.

I've found that in my fish-only tanks, those HUGE turbo snails for $2-$3 are a better investment. I can have 1 in a 40 gallon and it can keep the tank clean. If I put 2 in there, one will eventually die because there's not enough food. I use them in my breeder tanks too, but I have to move them around every couple of weeks. They don't work well in reef tanks though - they knock everything over.

Here's a link to a breeders forum that mostly talks about breeding crustaceans and invertebrates. If you scroll down to the mulluscs section, about 1/2 way down the page, you will see 6-7 forums dedicated to different types of snails. Maybe this can provide some information for you.
