Halocaridina rubra Another type of yummy feeder shrimp! But, these little things are perfect additions for nano or pico tanks. Less than .5 inch at adult size, they are a bit bigger than mysis, but smaller than ghost shrimp. They are detritus and bacteria eaters, so I think they will do well in our tanks. Well, in our tanks without big fish anyway! |

| I am setting up a culture for them, because the larvae are really tiny, but I think we will be able to put them in our sump and have their larvae feed our corals..... |

| OK, this attempt is dead and so is this thread! My husband thought the air pump was noisy and tried to help his favorite mad scientist. Some time after his adjustment, the airline came off the pump. I didn't check it for a bit cause I "got" to work the next day. All the other species of shrimp survived, but these tiny delicate creatures did not..... |

| No, I got them when I ordered from Ocean Rider. They are too expensive to order separately. But, I learned a valuable lesson: Check everything every time! I was just too pumped abuot the pipefish and forgot the other stuff.... |
