Sweet! First, let's see what you are thinking!

Are you wanting strong broodstock or just some cute fish for your display tank?

Don, are you still thinking of getting a few full sized seahorses?

Well I'm really just looking for healthy specimens to keep as pets... if they are already eating frozen that would be great....

but if I can get some great broodstock on top of that that would be even better.

I'm not setting up to breed really but if it happens I'd do my best to take care of them or Id have to come dump all the babies over at your house =)

but wouldn't you already be looking for both cute fish and strong broodstock in every animal you would want to own >?

also what where you thinking of ordering in? wild caught or captive ? and what do you estimate the price per

Thanks again - Nick

I am just trying to see where you are. With seahorses, and all syngnathids, we have to consider all the costs.

First, if you get wc, you must teach them to eat frozen food. It is time consuming to say the least, and some may never eat frozen. My last group of 8, 6 finally did but I still have 2 that won't eat anything I offer them. So, the initial cost may be cheaper, but in the long run, it is more expensive to get WC, IMO. But, I do it to get strong DNA because I really feel the CB ones are weaker.

But, if you are a seahorse newbie, CB are a safer bet. They will most likely already be eating frozen food, they will be young juveniles, and hopefully, strong specimens.

I will go in on S&H for either. I just want a few females. I have 2 sources for wc, but they have to be caught first! If you want to go with CB, I can only recommend OceanRider.

Do you know which species you want?

I am not looking there, silly!

I am not sure about mixing H erectus with other spp. I have tried twice and the others always expire. The LPA lost most of their H ingens when they put them in a holding tank with erectus.

You are putting them in the same tank?

Can I see a link to the seller? Or a name? I am curious who this is, and how they can sell groups of 10!
