I have had this pair of clowns for over two years and as far as I know they have not been spawning. They have been in a 120 reef tank and have hosted in a fuzzy mushroom. After talking with Amie I have decided to move them to a 15 gal tank by themselfs. Increase the temp to 82 Increase the daytime to 14 hr. Over feed with a high protien food. My Daughter has informed me that we need to have them Married. So after a akward cerimony we now have Mr. and Ms. Bonny and Clyde Clown. :$ Posted Image Edited by Don, Feb 7 2010, 07:54:04 AM.

The new home has a Tera cotta pot on its side. I have also put in some live rock and some macro algae (Thanks Suzy). They have only been in for a few hours I hope they go in the new cave (pot). If anyone has any sugestions of what more I can do to get them to spawn please let me know. Posted Image Posted Image |

| Do you have this plumed into a larger system? I worry about 15 gallon stand alone, if you feed high protein you need plenty of biological filtration. Somebody I think Amie said blood worms are wonder food when if come to setting the mood. |

I'd recognize those fish anywhere - they sure turned out beautiful. You're daughter is absolutely right, they were just waiting to be officially married, why didn't I think of that before. Duh! Now that they are married, I'm sure they will start spawning right away! I sure hope you got their ceremony on video because I would LOVE a copy of it. I have this great idea of what I can do with it. (insert evil laugh here) The new tank looks great, btw. Now we can start 'playing'. So what do you have the temperature and salinity set at? Clint is right, filtration is important, what are you using for filtration? It's nice you have a live rock in there, that will add some extra biofiltration. It looks like you have an HOB, right? Is there enough aeration coming from either that or the powerhead? (I've made that mistake before.) What is your light schedule right now, ie. how many total hours on/off? Do you have a moon light? |

I have a small 2 1/2 gallon tank on the back plumbed for top off and have a small pump moving water back into the 15 gal. The hob filter is designed for a 30 gal tank and it also can have two filter bags. I have looked at the filter bags and I think I can open them up and put phosban in the filter. I am planing to do weekly water changes (20%) from the 120 tank. Temp is at 80 Salinity is 1.024 I have a maxijet 600 Lights Actinic on at 8 Am Daylight on at 9 Am Daylight off at 9 PM Actinic off at 10 PM Moonlight 24 hr. Edited by Don, Feb 6 2010, 10:45:11 PM.
