Yea! We have eggs!!! 44 days in the new home. It is a small clutch. I have herd it is a good idea to let the first batch go. Let me know if that is true.

Amie I am going to need lots of advice.

Definitely let the first 2 batches go, don't even bother them. I've made that mistake before. Let them do their thing and get used to spawning on a schedule. Plus, the egg count will increase and the larvae will be healthier if you wait. Get some rotifers and get a good culture going.

Nope...don't do it, trust me. If you catch the larvae, it will freak out the parents and they won't start a regular spawning routine. You want them to get into a 10-day to 2-week schedule before you start collecting the eggs. Start writing it down on your calendar when the eggs are layed and what day they disappear.

That makes sense....I do know the first spawn of a seahorse are very weak and fragile.

:-/ The eggs are gone. It was a very small bunch (maybe 20 or so). I was lucky to see them right as they were layed. I don't know if they didnt hold (stick) well, or if it was just the first attempt and the parents didnt know what to do. I will watch very closly in 10 days or so.
