Posted Image I've had this type of isopod in my tank for years and have searched and searched to try and find out if it was a good or bad thing, and I finally stumbled across it's name today. It's called a munnid isopod, and it's one of the good guys. Not to be confused with the isopods that are parasites to fish, these little guys look a lot like amphipods, but they do not 'curl'. If you have them, you would have noticed them crawling on your glass. They are herbivores. |

I had those, I wondered what they were. When my sump crashed so did they and all my pods. I'm hoping they layed eggs and are in a stage of dormancy.

Oh good, I was hoping I wasn't the only one that didn't know what they were before now. Bob, I had them completely disappear from a tank that crashed and they just barely showed up again, so obviously there were eggs in the sand or something to that effect. They are obviously pretty sturdy. |

| I agree, you just need a handful of macroalgae from one of our tanks and you should be set to go. |
