Amie and I were thinking about an easier way to grow phyto, and a way to keep more than one species without them contaminating each other. I was goofing off with this one species, a brown diatom and put it in a clean bag. It is growing like crazy! It bloomed in 3 days! Sweet! Suzy, that's awesome. So explain it more. Do you have an airline inside the bag? I just received 50 bags that I ordered that are 3ml thick - I'm going to set some up tonight and see how it goes. I've got a few air filters to try out. Uh-oh.... I am going back to pepsi bottles and one spp. I am thinking I just need Tetraselmis.... Yes, it does have an airline inside. I did use one thing you might not know about: there are these bagties that you can get at the craft store for cake decorating, that wrap around the bag and you don't have to use them like regular rubber bands.
