Nudibranchs! These are Polka Dot Nudibranchs. I saw these at the LFS today, and even though there were only 2, I thought I would impulse buy them. A bit o' research I found thus far: Jorunna funebris (Kelaart, 1858) Order: NUDIBRANCHIA Suborder: DORIDINA Family: Dorididae DISTRIBUTION: Tropical Indo-West Pacific. Posted Image |

I did a bit o' research on them. They are sponge eaters, which to me is uber cool. My tanks over runneth with sponge. But, it might be that they eat only a certain type of sponge. I put 3 different spp next to them last night. But, when I picked on up to put him on the sponge, he had quite a bit of fuzz algae stuck to his bottom. I wonder if he was? The store only had two of these. What do you think the chances are of getting a male and a female? |

I agree with Clint on this one. If you can get a picture of one of them when it's on the glass, you might be able to tell if they are carrying any eggs. |

| I did finally get to see one pretty good on the glass. I coud see darkness where his stomach would be, and I hope that means he is feeding? Nothing that appears to be eggs, though. I think the ribbon they make is white. |

| Yes, I would think it would be 'whiter' down the center if it had eggs. I need to get pictures of the underside of my berghias. It's kind of a white-on-white look. |

"I bet the they are hermaphrodites." I agree with Clint and Amie. Eggs might not be white, could be any color. Just because they are on the glass is not necessarily a bad sign. Berghia and Monti eating nudibranchs wander all over the tank (and glass). Berghia lay eggs on the glass (and almost every where else). |
