| Well if you want to be given a hard time for it here it is, if they had procreated you would be happy right now, sex is not procreation. You have to wait until they reproduce before you call it procreation. Maybe you could use the word coitus, it is a good nerdy word for the noted behavior. |

So, when one hermaphrodite sticks it's private part it another hermaphrodite, that is coitus. But, during the coitus, didn't the gametes and ovas mix and I have >Viola! < procreation? Or is the production of the ribbon when I get procreation? Are they private hermaphrodyte parts called ovipostor? I just want my strand! Or technically the hermi nudis strand.... |

I don't know the specific name. And I guess at what point of the process does reproduction occur? Is it at fertilization, or do you have to have larvae? I don't know, I was just trying to give you the hard time that he said you were waiting for. From a strict evolution prospective reproduction productivity is not measured in offspring rather it is bringing for offspring that will also bring forth offspring what will also bring forth offspring.... It is only by continuation into perpetuity that success is measured.

Procreation means babies, right? So until you see something crawling around, can you say that they have procreated? But you can say that they have exchanged gametes. Yeah...that sounds romantic. |

| Wouldn't know about the "pause" but that is the word on the street. An old school Greek scientist is a great gig though. You just think about what might be, and how it might be, but you don't test anything or try to prove it. You just sit around thinking about it. And if you decide it works then it is the truth. |
