No, I have plenty but thanks. I refrigerated most of what you gave me and started a new culture (air line) from that and plan on starting another using a stir plate.

Sorry I have not been on this thread. I still have the last batch of plates we could use I don't know if the water concentration it too high. I think some parafilm around the edges while it is growing would be a good idea. I should be around on this coming Saturday maybe we could get together.

I am planning an early trip to SLC. The boys are excited as am I to visit the LPA. Thanks Suzy for inspiring the trip.
The para-film is great at keeping moisture in the plates and bad guys out!

John, be sure to check out the GPO eggs. They are on the front glass and on the west back side. And, if you slap the water on the touch tank, the sting rays will splash you!

We were members until after moving to pc. The highlight for the boys was the hands on ray exhibit. Over dinner countless times one or both of the boys would breathlessly describe how the rays splashed him (them).
I read about the octo eggs. thanks for the tip.

Y'up rays are still all the rave, man are they big! Ocot eggs were super cool as was the SA exhibit. Suzy are those really red pirhana? Or black? Where are their teeth?
Man, has it grown! I was super stoked to see how popular it is. I had to drive around the parking lot for 5 minutes to find a spot!

I have never been asked if they are red or black! I didn't know there were 2 different spp! I will find out. They do file their teeth down so they are not so scary to little kids..... (JK!)

At the staff meeting, they told the paid staff they have to park at Reams, and they are parking the AquaVans across the street. They have really grown out of this building! During the Penguin grand opening, they are panicked about the parking.

One good thing/bad thing? They are having so many birthday parties being booked, they are having to turn some away. They are thinking about taking out the theater and putting in another party room!

They have really proven the public wants this! I am really proud of Brent, the guy who started this and keep it going through a lot of BS. I am not sure many people would have kept going after a few really hard set backs. But, now it is going to happen!

I started a new culture...the first didn't work. Could it be that I added 7mls fertilizer in 1.5L? New culture has a 2ml/2L ratio.

Hey, I am sorry I missed this. I am usually so good about reading every post.

I don't think it was the fertilizer because I add extra if I am growing for my reef. Did you add a lot of medium/ new water? I've found that sometimes a new starter culture does better if I only use about 2/3 new water to 1/3 phyto. Once it gets growing good, I can do more new to old ratio but it seems you have to baby some to get them growing well.

Dang girl, I didn't know you were that into it. What you got going is lab grade. I've got just a lemonade stand compared to you.

Tell you want. I need you to look at my T-Iso to see if it's still alive. I gave some to Clint to try and I haven't heard back. I suspect "IT'S DEAD JIM".

I think T-Iso is the next super food that can complete Nanno as a primary food source. I like Tet because of the same properties you describe. I read that between Nanno, Tet and T-Iso they are an ideal match for larval rearing since one is high in DHA, the other in EPA and then Tet completes it with the antibiotic properties.

What are your thoughts?

One request. If you and can you scope my cultures. I haven't looked at this to confirm they are still pure. The microscope didn't make the trip. I have the culture running on independent air systems and semi isolated on the table.
