Thanks Sylvio and Amie,

I didn't notice any blacks spots.

Update..he's still alive although he is not moving. It dosen't look like a molting problem. He hasen't had anything to eat since fri. night. Presonally I can't figure it out. I would try to nurse him ...feed him but I really don't know since I feel he can't or will not move his claws to feed.

It's strange that he's still alive if he hasn't eaten. I wonder how long they can go without food.

He/it is just laying there, breathing but not moving? I have tube fed seahorses before and had them survive, but I would not have a clue how to get a small enough tube into a shrimp. Of course, you canot tube feed him, but if you want to try to put some live phytoplankton in the water, I have some. It has antibiotic properties, high nutrition. He may absorb some just breathing....

It's a miricale!
He's alive !
This morning a half dosed iodide...I never added or checked for over a year.
When I got home he was out and although not the most active shrimp...he is moving after 2 days of not eating. I shut my pumps off and surounded him with garlic soaked mysis. He picked up a bit and although he looks weak I saw him pick up a bit of food...I now have faith. Can it be ...iodine was needed? no sign of molting?

Who knows, Bob. I guess if it molts in the next few days, you will know that it's the iodine. Otherwise, it's anyones guess. I'm just glad it's finally getting it's strength back.

He's still alive..I just over feed my tank to make sure he eats..he now moved to an overhang cave. Amie, I nitice some more back (possible food) in him. He is not racing around collecting food...bue is it possible that h is not using his pinchers yet but is taking in food with the movement of the hair like movement around his mouth?

Yes, he could just be using the smaller legs to grab food with, if the food is small and comes right up to him. They usually use those larger/longer legs to grab and hold onto food while the smaller legs pull particles off of the food and bring those particles into their mouth. If you give him a mysid shrimp, does he reach out and grab it?
