I am just using Google Scholar and a few other choice sites. I was exploring NOAA last night, and finding some great stuff for this species and H zosterae.

I get to work today,, tomorrow is really busy, so I am putting off the U until next week....

Ok, so I separated the herd into the right 2:1 ratio, and now it seems the males are afraid! In the monoculture tank, the males are surrounded by the juvie females, and they appear to acting like parents. The females are using the males as horsey rides.....

Guys, I am beginning to believe in fish karma. I so need to expand on my newest religion, but I think I found a karma like no other! Amie and I have been talking a bit behind the scenes and making some plans to do a lot of work to benefit someone else, right? So, I hang up the phone after talking with her, I go downstairs to feed the fish and my fish have spawned! I had no idea he was gravid. And, to make it even better, the female that could be responsible had just passed 2 days ago.

I now have a kreisal with a very few fry from a fish I loved dearly. Fingers crossed they live?

Thank you, Goddess of the Home Aquarium Reef Tank! Long live your karma! This may just inspire me to do for others more often!

Pics to follow if they survive the night. I am concerned because I did not know they were coming, and they have been in the main display all day..I thank the reef goddess for 7 buckets o' rotifers!

This morning, there are only a few die off. But, the big die off day would be tomorrow so we will see. Fingers crossed? I really need this dna. The broodstock are both wc and this would be the first generation of cb from them. If I lose these, then I will have one wc mixing with a cb. I would love to be able to have this be first generation cb!

I should be keeping records here, huh?

3/19 Day of birth. Placed in a nursery kriesal.
Temp 78`
Fed Rotifers gut loaded with Pavola, Isochrysis and Nanno.
1 cup live Tetra added to kreisal
Began hatching BBS
3/20 Post Birth Day #1 AKA PBD1
One die off, all look very weak and fragile, a few floaties
Temp 78`
Fed BBS less than 4 hours old x 3 with rots, pods and mysis larvae
3/21 PBD #2
No die off, fry look darker and swimming more purposefully
Fed BBS less than 4 hours old x 3 with rots, pods and mysis larvae
Begin attempting to figure out when to start hatching bbs to be more convenient
Attempting to figure out how many food products to use to keep 3/ml in nursery
3/22 PBD #3
Ditto above. Fry are hitching and actively chasing food
3/23 PBD #4
Still haven't figured out when to start BBS to hatch at times I want! Could my SF eggs be hatching in 12 hours?

I do not have a lot of experience with SF eggs but my GSL eggs(I collect my own) start to hatch within 12 hours. The temp will effect hatch time. Also; if you keep them in the freezer before hatch it usually takes longer.

The basement is about 70`, and it seems these are hatching in about 12 hours. I swear last time I was doing this, it was clser to 18!

You go and collect them? Sweet! Do you bleach them or anything?

Tomorrow I will change the kriesal nursery and get a head count. I think there are fewer than 10. A first and last clutch for this pair...

I have been collecting eggs and even adult brine for years(I would be glad to take you sometime if you would like). It is sometimes hit or miss with the hatch rate of the eggs. With the low lake levels the brine shrimp companies scoop up a lot of the eggs in places we used to collect(they used to get most of their egg by boat but now they scoop it off the beaches.
Thanks for the welcome.
