I am really going to show my ignorance now. There are a lot of eggs next to my clownfish, but I only have one clownfish and it seems to be taking care of the eggs! Any ideas?

Can a female lay eggs without them being fertilized? I guess they can. Chickens do all the time. :P

Yes, I think they are unfertilized. Can you find another one?

Okay, that is the craziest thing I've ever heard of. Seriously! It does make sense that she could lay the eggs without a male because he fertilizes them after they are laid, I've just never heard of it happening. I'd love to know more about your setup because she must really want to have babies. I'm having a hard time getting my black O's to spawn and they seem to have had the perfect conditions ... for 3 years! Do you mind answering a few questions?

What's the temperature?
What's the salinity?
What other tank mates are in the tank with her?
What is your lighting schedule?
What do you feed her and how often?

That's a good start.

Oh...what kind of clownfish is she? Maroon? Black O?
