Ok, my daphne are alive but growing slowly. I am going to see if I can get a quicker growth rate using some experimentation.

So, one of my new finds is the dinoflagellate Oxyrrhis marina. It is a brackish spp, that is no good to reefers except it feeds my new copepod oithona:

Phylum Arthropoda
Subphylum Crustacea
Class Maxillopoda
Subclass Copepoda
Order Cyclopoida
Family Oithonidae
Genus Oithona
species plumifera

Sweet, huh! This pod is smaller than our cold water species T californiicus, is calanoid (stays in the water column) and can handle the warmer temps of our aquariums.

Wish me luck!

You know, that is just what I found on google scholar by but I added some to the pod culture and they were still there the next day. So, I am going to bump them up to 32 ppt.

I am not sure. I will look under the microscope. The dinoflagelatte is taking off but the others, I don't know.
