I have had 2 of these for years. They have been in a hole in my seahorse display. I now have them isolated in a species tank. We'll see!

Ok, now I feel bad. I thought for sure these would hatch this am, because I had to work today. I called home and they did not hatch. So, I took them away from papa when I didn't need to.

But, I am off tomorrow. From the research I have done, they only incubate for about 4 days. I do not know when these were laid, because I just found them when I was cleaning the glass for pics. They are surprise eggs!

That is so exciting. I love those fish. Let's hope they hatch, but if not this time maybe next time.

What do you mean you took them away from papa? What did you do with them? Do you have them in suspension? Or do you have a pump moving them? I think you would be better off just letting them hatch on their own so you can get a schedule of when they are layed and when they hatch. Getting too excited and disrupting their cycle could do just that...disrupt their cycle.

They are in a kriesal nursery, with flow cruising through the pvc pipe they are in. They are still suspended from the top of the pipe and gently moving in the breeze. Still not hatched today and I knew I would not be able to raise this batch. So, we'll see!

Ok, this was a learning experience. It appears they hatched while I was at work, and I forgot to remove the flow before I left. So, the tanks got a snack....
