....to start getting serious! I want to plan now for winter. Yes, I know it is only July, but I am hoping to have a lot of fry to play with this winter. In order to do that, I need to get ready now! So, what do I need? Breeding Broodstock A strong feeding strategy A maintenance plan What else? |

You will need Winter! I want Winter to come also. The best part of Winter is that Fall comes first and Spring is afterward. You need to make sure you have your live food going strong for all the fry you are planning and plenty of tanks to put them in. |

| I agree with Larry...lots of space for more tanks. I still think that you will have more success if you get your larvae out of the main system and into isolated tanks. Most full-time breeders have a nursery setups that are linked together, but still separate from the broodstock tanks. |

No, I can't wait until winter to get ready! I need to be ready 'cause I am thinking something is going to spawn! I cannot make anymore space, unless I move into the family room or guest room. I keep thinking "I could put a glass box full of salt water here" in other rooms but then I tell myself I need to control the urge. Seriously, I think I could fill my entire house with saltwater and never feel I have enough! So, I am limiting myself to only what I have now: 3 75 displays, 8 20 long nursery and brood stock tanks, 1 wall of food stuff, 1 wall of equipment and one under the stairs storage. If I cannot fulfill my needs with all that, I need to re-evaluate! But, I do think I am going to unplumb all the tanks. I think I am going to have the 75 gallon displays all separate, all the broodstock separate and the nurseries separate. I am going to get another mysis culture going soon. I really think mysis spawn will be a great food source for some things. And, those yummy little Hawaiian red shrimps might be a great source of tiny larva food. I ordered a new digital microscope! It should be here this week. I am pumped to play with it. I am going to take it to work and see if the nurses are growing MRSA under our fingernails, or on the keyboards! |

| How's the setup going, Suzy? Bummer about the 2 20's that broke. Sorry about that. |

Slow but getting there. No worries about the cracks. They were easy to fix. I used the glue they use to fix cracked windshields. I have 4 tanks divided into 2 each all plumbed and working. My poor yellow wartchman gobies had to get moved so they are freaked out. I hope it doesn't take long to get them spawning again. |
